The store specializes in paints for Japanese paintings, which has continued since the Edo period (17cent.～19cent.). The store invented nail polish called "nail" (manicure) using gofun which is a paint made from natural material.

The shop specializes in Japanese sweets and food boiled in sweetened soy sauce. The specialties are "A Bite of Shiitake Mushroom" which is made from carefully selected materials and seasoning and "Kohaku" (amber) which is a Japanese sweet with beautiful appearance like a gem. They represent Eirakuya.

The shop is a renovated café which was originally a traditional Kyoto house named "Umezono" (plum garden) and it has been famous for its skewered dumplings in the shape of a solid tube. You can enjoy eating pancakes with a taste of powdered green tea, French toast with brown sugar, and parfait with steamed wheat gluten. There is a gallery on the second floor displaying various interesting things.
